We started Saints Alive more than two years ago, and it has taken off faster than we ever could have imagined. Each month, thousands more heard about our little podcast and told their family and friends. The word kept spreading, helping us reach more souls and continue this ministry. Frustrated with boring, cheesy and low-budget Catholic entertainment, or destructive secular entertainment? So are we. As parents, our founders, Alex and Melissa Dee, wanted better for Catholic families than Hollywood shows that break down the Faith or Catholic shows that make it unattractive.

That’s why we started Saints Alive.

Parents say that all of their kids, even teenagers, love the shows; moreover, they often show immediate improvement in their behavior and love of the Faith. It all adds up to a great experience for every member of the family.

We produce monthly audio dramas to bring the greatest heroes of our Faith to life. And with professional voice actors and Hollywood-trained directors, the shows are compelling, professional and, most importantly, entertaining!

The Team

  • Alex Dee

    CO-FOUNDER + DIRECTOR

    Alex is a husband, father, actor, and Swiss army knife when it comes to storytelling. He has pursued film and acting in New York City and Los Angeles since 2011. He recently made the leap to give his full focus as the Director of Saints Alive and lives in Vermont with his amazing wife and kids. He feels blessed to have developed a career both in front of and behind the camera, and he has a deep desire to tell stories that move hearts to Christ. Alex also acts as the narrator for each episode of Saints Alive, and he’s the guy editing it all together.

  • Melissa Dee

    CO-FOUNDER + PRODUCER

    Melissa is a wife, pediatric nurse, and mom to the most exhausting and incredible two year old you’ll ever meet and recently welcomed a beautiful daughter. Creating this podcast has been a labor of love, and Melissa has cherished the long hours of hard work with the saints by her side. She has been the primary script writer and executive producer for Saints Alive. When she isn’t creating Google docs, writing lists, and sending emails you can find her loving the joy of being a mom.

  • Tanner Kalina

    CO-FOUNDER + DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MISSIONS

    Tanner is a Catholic artist and missionary currently living in Denver, Colorado. He chases holiness in his day to day, failing frequently but continuing constantly. Along with working as a writer and actor for the last decade, he has had the great pleasure of spreading the Gospel with awesome ministries such as FOCUS, Ascension Presents, YDisciple, and currently is also working with the National Eucharistic Revival. Tanner plays many roles on this podcast as well as contributes to script writing and ministry vision.
